How to apply

Please send your application (a CV including transcripts, a writing sample (maximum 25 pages), a short description of the candidate's planned research over the next few years (about 1 page) and an abstract of the dissertation in electronic form by August 01th, 2019 to Jijie Song (tsinghuawp [__at__] sina [dot] com).

Short-listed candidates will be invited to interviews, either in person or over the internet. After the interviews, the philosophical faculty will recommend one candidate to the university for approval. The chance that the university will reject the recommendation is low, but not zero. IMPORTANT NOTE: Unlike in many other places, there is a very long and very burdensome administrative process between the philosophical faculty’s decision as to which candidate to recommend and the university’s decision as to whether to approve the recommendation. It is long and burdensome for both sides, so the recommended candidate should expect to spend much time and effort going through the process with us. People who are unwilling or unable to go through this process should not apply. And before the philosophical faculty make a recommendation, short-listed candidates may be asked whether Tsinghua is his or her first choice. We do not like doing this, but have to reduce the chance of going through the long and burdensome administrative process in vain.
