The philosophy department at Washington and Jefferson College seeks an assistant professor capable of teaching courses in religious studies and eventually building a program in that area. Initial three year appointment with presumption of renewal. Must be able to teach undergraduate courses in a variety of world religions and also in Biblical Studies. PhD in religious studies preferred, but philosophers of religion with extensive background in religious studies will also be considered. Teaching load: 3-3. Salary: Competitive, with full benefits.

W&J is a small liberal arts college located about 30 miles south of Pittsburgh. Excellence in teaching is the single most important requirement of any faculty member at the institution.
