The Department of Humanities in the Faculty of Arts and Science at MacEwan University invites applications for a Tenure-Track appointment in Philosophy, at the rank of Assistant Professor, commencing July 1, 2018, subject to final budgetary approval.

Philosophy at MacEwan University emphasizes a grounding in the history of philosophy and close reading of primary texts. The successful candidate will have research and teaching expertise in the history of philosophy. All candidates with such expertise are encouraged to apply, however the ideal candidate will have an AOS or AOC in Islamic Philosophy, Medieval Philosophy, Phenomenology, or Hermeneutics. Familiarity with digital humanities and comfort in a multidisciplinary humanist environment are assets.

Preferred candidates will hold a Ph.D. in Philosophy and will demonstrate a primary commitment to undergraduate teaching and an ongoing research program.

Salary The current annual salary range for Ph.D. level Assistant Professors is $66,788 to $108,110.
