The Department of Philosophy at the University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC) invites applications for two tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor, to begin July 1, 2012.

Qualified candidates are invited to apply for the positions, one in Ethics and one in Political Philosophy. Areas of concentration are open for both positions. Only one application is required for both or either position: please indicate your interest in the cover letter. For at least one position, an interest in and ability to teach bioethics is a high priority. Ph.D. (or near completion) required. Applicants must demonstrate excellence in both research and teaching. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The University of Toronto has three campuses, Scarborough (UTSC), Mississauga and St. George, each with its own Department of Philosophy. UTSC is strongly committed to maintaining a research-intensive home for its faculty and students. Members of the three U of T Philosophy departments are also members of the tricampus graduate Department of Philosophy. The Philosophy teaching load at UTSC is normally two-two with three undergraduate courses and one graduate course.
