The Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering (CSEE) at the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) invites applications from adjunct instructors to teach CMSC304 Social and Ethical Issues in Information Technology.

This survey course reviews social issues and the ethical impact of information technology throughout the world. The course examines the policy issues that relate to the use of information technology, such as persona, privacy, rights of access, security, transborder information flow and confidentiality. CMSC 304 is a required course for all computer science majors at UMBC. The CSEE Department anticipates two offerings of the course in each of the Fall 2014 and Spring 2015 semesters. Applicants must hold a minimum of a master's degree in philosophy, computer science or a related discipline. Prior teaching experience at the university level is highly desirable.
